GMHCN Tackles Poverty

The Global Mental Health Community network spearheaded a partnership with school groups and local businesses to collect over 250 coats for the homeless population of NYC.  This impactful effort was well timed and took place just a week prior to NYC's biggest snowfall in years.  (Article below from Manhasset Press, 12/23/20)

GMHCN Tackles Food Scarcity

As Island Harvest Leadership Council members, the organization hosted food drives to tackle food scarcity and its efforts directly supported the underserved families of Manhasset and Great Neck.  Since Covid-19 began, the local food pantry has seen a large jump in the numbers of families it serves.   By February, the pantry was feeding close to 500 families weekly.  (Article below from Manhasset Press, 3/10/21)
